Anne Hathaway Slipped Into a Completely Sheer Red Gown for Her Second CFDA Awards Look

Anne Hathaway wore a denim-on-denim Ralph Lauren bustier and skirt to last night's CFDA Fashion Awards gala in New York City to pay respect to everyone's favourite pop princess Britney Spears, but it wasn't her only attention-grabbing ensemble.

Anne's red gown had a wrap design, and the translucent red lace fabric showed off her matched red underpinnings. The dress also had black floral decoration on the shoulders and bodice, and the black blooms extended down the skirt.

The Rodarte sisters, Kate and Laura Mulleavy, showcased the look on the runway with baby's breath and arm cuffs, but Anne kept her accessories to a minimum, adding some Bulgari jewellery for good measure and avoiding fresh flowers.

For the second garment, Hathaway changed her hairstyle, putting her chocolate brown hair into a fast updo to show off her drop earrings. The event's host, Anne Hathaway, was a last-minute addition.

The film follows Hathaway's Rebecca and Thomasin McKenzie's Eileen, who are "employees at a prison in 1960s Massachusetts who strike up an unusual friendship that eventually proves sinister," according to People.

"During a harsh 1964 Massachusetts winter, young secretary Eileen becomes enchanted by the glamorous new counsellor at the prison where she works," according to the film's official synopsis.
