Bandmate updates on Bruce Springsteen's health amid peptic ulcer disease treatment
Bruce Springsteen is recovering well from peptic ulcer disease, a stomach condition that he'd been suffering from, prompting him to postpone performances earlier this year.
One of The Boss's bandmates in the E Street Band, Steven Van Zandt, told USA Today about his recovery on Friday at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
"I got to tell you the truth, we had no idea how much pain he was in,” Van Zandt said. “We were just as surprised as everyone else to learn the extent of his illness.
He revealed that the "Born in the USA" singer had been in pain due to the common stomach problem for at least five show
"It was remarkable when we found out that," Van Zandt recalled. "He is just a tough guy."
Van Zandt stated that Springsteen was probably inspired to finish those concerts by the fervor of the crowd "many came to me after those shows (and said) those were the best shows they've ever seen."
