Kate Middleton Wore Princess Diana’s Sapphire Earrings and Solved a Royal Mystery

The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, is a master at dressing elegantly with sentimental royal relics. She frequently dons items that belonged to Princess Diana, her late mother-in-law, and the late Queen Elizabeth II.

The earrings that the former Princess of Wales was thought to have lost for a long time were most recently worn by Middleton. Lady Di once owned the diamond and sapphire drop earrings, which even matched her engagement ring.

Middleton wore a bright and stylish Emilia Wickstead pant suit with a well-known pair of earrings as an accessory to the Shaping Us National Symposium on Wednesday at The Design Museum in London.

Middleton first wore the earrings back in 2022, dispelling a persistent myth. She has worn the jewels on multiple occasions this year, including the Trooping the Colour and the Commonwealth Day Service.

Since Diana's passing, Middleton has been seen wearing a smaller, comparable pair of sapphire and diamond earrings, and it was widely assumed that the original pair had vanished. The earrings are two different pairs, according to writer and jewellery historian Lauren Kiehna of The Court Jeweller blog.

Sapphires are faceted in Kate's smaller earrings and cabochons in Diana's earrings, according to Kiehna, who spoke to People. "Kate has since worn the double cluster earrings, refuting the story in its whole.
