Lakers Had To Evacuate Moda Center Before Game Against The Trail Blazers Due To A Shot Being Fired Near The Arena

A gunshot near the ticket office at the Moda Center led to the Lakers being evacuated from the arena.

The Los Angeles Lakers were forced to evacuate from Moda Center on Friday afternoon before their game against the Portland Trail Blazers after a shot was fired near the ticket office.

The Portland Police Bureau informed KOIN News that the building was put in a "brief lockdown" just past noon.

Authorities revealed that “a man and woman got into an altercation inside a porta potty near the ticket office.”

The man barricaded himself inside the toilet after firing the shot, which appears to have completely missed the woman, who was unharmed.

She reportedly ran away from the scene and there is no word yet on her whereabouts.

The man, however, was taken into custody, after the police got him to exit the toilet.

He has been booked for unlawful use of a weapon, discharging a firearm in the city, and an existing warrant from Washington County.
