Nicki Minaj has spoken out about her most recent operation as well as her thoughts on body positivity. The rapper and mother said in a new interview for Vogue's December cover story that she just had a breast reduction, which made her reevaluate her relationship with curves.
Minaj also revealed that she is "at peace" with her present body after the arrival of her kid, whom she refers to as Papa Bear, in September 2020."I just watched a video I posted on Instagram when I was 25, and I would fucking pay to look like that right now," Nicki explained.
"However, as a Black woman, I have to say this." Because of diseases like diabetes that run in our community, I've taken specific decisions for my son, such as avoiding giving him sweets, candy, or juice. I'm against body positivity if it results in unhealthy bodies.
Minaj's observations come after she famously spoke out about body representation in the music industry ahead of the 2015 VMAs, sparking a now-famous dispute with Miley Cyrus. In the interview, the rapper seemed to allude to the incident, saying, "When I hear the word mean, I think about the core of who the person is."
"I could be the biggest bitch, at the peak of my bitch-ness, but if the person I'm cursing at the time needs something from me, I'm going to give it to them," Nicki said. I must be able to look in the mirror and feel good about myself.
