Prince Harry Won't Be Watching the Final Season of 'The Crown,' Despite Reports to the Contrary
Although a great number of fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of The Crown's last season on Netflix today, Nov. 16, Prince Harry is apparently among those who will not be watching this time around.
A source close to the prince has since corrected earlier reports from The Daily Telegraph claiming that Harry intended to watch the most recent chapter, which will recount the tragic death of his mother, the late Princess Diana.
He would not stream the last season of Peter Morgan's show because of the "sensitive nature" of its subject, an insider "close to the Duke of Sussex" reportedly told Deadline.
Despite not having any negative thoughts towards Netflix or the makers of The Crown, Deadline added that Prince Harry was "not consulted over the show and had no advanced sight of episodes."
He addressed the subject in 2021 when he appeared on The Late Late Show. He criticised the programme for portraying him and the other royals as prioritising "duty and service above family and everything else."
Harry went on, "I find The Crown far more comfortable to read than stories about my wife or my family." Take that what you will; it is obviously fiction. Netflix is currently offering The Crown season 6 part 1 for streaming.
