Taylor Swift Wore the Dominatrix-Style Boots Amal Clooney Is a Fan of, Too
Some boots are made for walking, as in soft boots that can withstand thousands of steps (like Uggs, which are very comfy and I've walked around NYC in them), but there are also seductive boots that are created to be strutted in.
Taylor Swift was wearing an example of the latter. The singer, who's been out and about like nobody's business, sported a fall-perfect ensemble that's equal parts beautiful and charming, a look she's mastered. She headed out for an evening in NYC wearing a pleated, checkered short skirt.
She accessorised with a super-thin black belt (evidence that a black belt is still the one classic accessory that every ensemble can benefit from! ), a black top-handle chain bag, and, last but not least, those dominatrix-esque over-the-knee leather boots.
Autumn is, of course, the season when boots appear like clockwork. Uggs! Boots for combat! Cowgirl boots! Knee-high black boots! The list goes on, but there's something innately glamorous yet practical about Swift's over-the-knee choice, which has also been seen on Amal Clooney.
Aside from the utilitarian aspect, there's no disputing that the exceptionally high boot style is extremely alluring. Consider this: If Swift wore that exact outfit with ankle combat boots, the ensemble would read completely different, more relaxed.
However, the leggy footwear quickly lends flair to the modest two-piece ensemble, illustrating that when the hemline is lower, a higher boot is ideal. It's an interesting juxtaposition.
